Solve the summer squash problem

What to do with all those tasteless summer squash? Hmmm, do i hear bacon?

Here is a nice simple recipe for using up those tasteless summer squash or zucchini. Go to the frig and get that can of bacon grease just sitting there waiting to be put to good use. (Thanks, for that tip, Herman Weck (1921-2013), may he rest in peace.) Put a tablespoon of bacon grease in a pan and heat to medium frying temperature. Add summer squash, sliced and quartered, wax beans with a dash of pepper and fry for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then add orange cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves and cook an additional 7 to 10 minutes. Serve. Yum.
