Goodbye Blue Monday locally owned coffee shop

I returned to Northfield, Minnesota on a trip to visit friends and popped in to have a cup of coffee at the Goodbye Blue Monday coffee shop. What a delight this place is. It has probably been around under different owners for about 20 years. There plent of art on the walls of the coffee shop and bathroom, and old furniture to lounge around in, shop-baked goods, right on the main street and close to the Archer House river inn and sporting used Metrodome seats outside.

Although quite empty this morning, I was reminded of hours past, spent discussing various technical innovations with local residents and inventors. Runners often convene after their exertion for more relaxed discussions, not just about running. Northfield is home to Carleton and St. Olaf Colleges as well as Malt-O-Meal Cereals and other small businesses. Northfield has a very high cuteness index, nearly at the same level as Geneva, IL. And after returning from the older Richmond, VA, very wide streets.
