Tin Whiskers recently opened in St. Paul (125 E 9th St, 44.950655, -93.093621) in a beautifully renovated space offering a number of nice beers. I was visiting a friend and we decided to check out a number of the local St Paul brewpubs.
The owners of Tin Whiskers invested in a very nice renovation of an older space. Very high ceilings, brewing tanks in the back, lots of glass, and a very boistrous atmosphere on a Thursday evening. If one wants a quiet pub to meditate, this is not the one with all the loud conversation.
We used the Minnesota Beer Finder app to map out breweries and pubs in the St. Paul area. I visited many of the Minneapolis breweries in the past and they were a bit too far from home base near Como Lake. We stopped first at Burning Brothers Brewing (1750 W Thomas Ave, 44.958794, -93.174225) and had a πϱ (Pyro) Pale Ale, an American Pale Ale beer. It was okay. After too much hoppy beer i long for a simple wheatier, fruitier summer beer, perhaps a Radler or a Berliner weiss with raspberry syrup.
Earlier that Thursday we had tried Bang Brewing (2320 Capp Road, 44.970915, -93.192549) and Urban Growler (2325 Endicott Street, 44.970214, -93.193384), both of which were closed. Perhaps Urban Growler has not even opened? At least we knew where they were for future biking reference.
