A short pub pedal-crawl

It was hot and steamy on Friday, a perfect day to investigate some of the local beer halls in Richmond, VA.  The first stop was Isley Brewing (1715 Summit Ave, 37.568903, -77.468342)

With the Washington Redskins training camp nearby, it seemed a perfect time to try a “You had me at Hello” Hefeweizen, at a special price. Very serviceable and enjoyable on the outdoor back deck. I also tried the “Blue Hefner” blueberry Hefeweizen, which had a blueberry aroma, but no real blueberry flavor.
Next it was over a couple of blocks to Ardent Craft Ales (3200 W Leigh St, 37.568173, -77.472000) to resample the honey ginger. It is quite strong at 8.2% and the first time I had it I thought it was incredibly sweet and smooth. This time it seemed a bit rougher on the tongue, but very tasty. And Ardent has one of the nicer outdoor spaces for drinking beer.

Then it was on to Triple Crossing (113 S Foushee St, 37.541843, -77.445591) to sit a spell on their outdoor deck and sample their version of a saison. It was a beautiful night but all the seats at tables were taken so i grabbed an empty chair at the wall and watched the sunset and enjoyed my saison.
