On another random adventure this long Labor Day weekend. I started the trip in Greensboro, NC and then headed to a very large flea market in Hillsville, VA. “Treasures” were to be found in every corner. Lots and lots of junk, though. It was like a low end county fair with the gyros made without garlic and the jambalaya made without okra. It was a beautiful sunny day for the great treasure hunt.
I drove through television’s Mayberry, Mt. Airy, NC on the way to Winston-Salem, NC. I naturally managed to find a local brew pub with my built in hipster detector and enjoyed a Tropical Fruit Bellente, which is nice and cloudy with some residual fruit taste. A bit better than the Limonhead, which really just had the grapefruit taste of many IPAs. Well worth a visit.
