I stepped out of the drizzle
to have some seafood at Ambrose Beer & Lobsters, near South St. Seaport, NYC.
I was hoping to have a French 75 cocktail (gin, sugar, lemon juice and champagne) and a dozen oysters on the half shell, but this was not the place for such retro thinking. The clam chowder came in a paper/ cardboard/paper mache? bowl, the potatoes were not overdone and there were some clams but the oyster crackers were good. The Flower Power IPA from Ithaca Brewery was very tasty, medium on the hops but grapefruity enough. Looks like a great place to enjoy a drink with friends when the outdoor tables are active.
