Brooklyn neighborhood coffeeshops

My coffeeshop Saturday was the Georges-Andre Vintage Cafe on Halsey Street in Brooklyn. Coffeeshops and restaurants may be a leading indicator for gentrification. If the toilet had been mended, I might have visited on consecutive days. It is a nice Bohemian shop with reclaimed furniture, a child friendly area and a number of Georges Andre pictures on the walls.

Brunswick Coffee at 144 Decatur, midway between the Kingston-Throop and Utica C train stops, seems to staffed by hipster Aussies bent on taking over Brooklyn. They were brought up drinkimg the “flat white” so it is not a marketing ploy at this spot.
