Vazac’s Horseshoe Bar

Dive bars of America unite!

Vazac’s No.7 Horseshoe Bar, across from Tompkins Square Parkon Avenue B, sports a nondescript exterior which is congruous with the roadhouse feel inside interior. The place was pleasantly half full just after happy hour, near sunset on a Thursday, with regulars filling most of the seats at the bar and catching up on the events of the day. The tap IPA was only five dollars, a veritable steal after happy hour.

The view onto Avenue B caught my eye while catching up with my young, off-the-grid hero, who is now freelancing and coaching a high school robotics team nearby. I don’t think I saw a single college girl in the place but I stepped out pretty early into the bustling night on rhe Avenue.
